Steven Hale, MD, orthopaedic surgeon with the Center for Orthopaedics, was elected Second Vice-President of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association (LOA) at the organization’s 2022 Annual Meeting in New Orleans this month.
The Center for Orthopaedics has announced the addition of Enrique Mendez, MD, FACP, FACR, rheumatologist, to their physician staff. Dr. Mendez has practiced medicine in Southwest Louisiana since 2001 and specializes in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematous and a wide range of other rheumatology related disorders.
Dr. Mendez earned a medical degree from Universidad Salvadoreina Alberto Masferrer (USAM) in El Salvador, then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Vernon Hospital, an affiliate of the New York Medical College in Mount Vernon, New York. He then completed a rheumatology fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Mendez is also a member of the Louisiana Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and the state and local medical societies.
